All India Design Innovation Centre Exhibition organized at IIT Delhi

IIT Delhi hosted a day-long All India Design Innovation Centre (DIC) Exhibition on 26th Nov 2019. Prof TC Kandpal, Dy Director (Operations), IIT Delhi, inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Prof PVM Rao, Coordinator of IIT Delhi Design Innovation Center and representatives from other DICs.

During the exhibition, products and solutions developed by various institutes/universities were displayed.

Design Innovation Centres have been established by MHRD in government educational institutions including IIT Delhi. One of the mandates of DICs is to introduce knowledge application activities as a part of curricula and co-curricula activities to address some of the challenges being faced by the society through design and innovation.

There are 20 Design Innovations Centers, which are located in IITs, central universities, technical universities, School of Planning and Architecture. Each of the 20 DICs have at least three partnering institutes under hub and spoke model.

84 institutes/universities are involved in this government led design and innovation programme.
